Stephanie Barnes is an independent user experience consultant specializing in user research, interaction design and usability engineering. Her passion is bringing the art and science of user centered design to the product development process. For the last 10 years she has created products in a variety of industries, including aviation, military, consumer electronics and medical devices.

Most recently Stephanie spent 7 years working in the medical industry on portable diagnostic devices. Her creative design solutions and teamwork earned her numerous patents and national design awards, including the esteemed Business Week IDEA award and the Medical Device Excellence Award. Stephanie is often a guest speaker at national conferences and has published several articles in user centered design. She holds a BS in psychology from Texas State University and an MS in Human Factors and Ergonomics from the University of Idaho.
